Our doctors provide head to tail physical examinations on all patients. The physical examination is the most important way to determine your pets health or ways we can improve your pets health.
Computed Tomography, also known as CT or CAT Scan, is specialized imaging equipment that we use to evaluate pets with chronic ear disease, nasal discharge, or other abnormalities affecting the patient’s head. We are partnered with Xoran Technologies to provide our patients with a unit called the VetCAT. It’s designed to minimize the amount of X-ray exposure while maximizing image quality. Our scans are often performed in a matter of 40 seconds of less with sedation.
Cryosurgery uses liquid nitrogen to freeze masses without the use of sutures. This is ideal for patients with masses on the skin, around the eyes, and on or in ears. Cryosurgical treatment for masses can be performed without sedation or anesthesia and does not require sutures. The mass treated by cryosurgery requires a few weeks to form the scar where the mass was located.
Intradermal allergy testing is the "gold standard" in allergy testing which is seldom available in an animal hospital. We provide veterinary dermatologist services along with custom formulation of allergen specific immunotherapy/allergy vaccine for your allergic pet. Immunotherapy is the only treatment with the potential to modify allergic disease. This allergy test does NOT test for food allergies. A food trial is the "gold standard" for diagnosing food allergy.
The use of CO2lasers in surgery provides patients with the option of experiencing less inflammation, swelling, pain, or bleeding that is often seen with traditional surgical techniques.
The Diode laser allows the AHRP team to perform surgery in confined spaces such as the deeper portions of the ear canal that were previously inaccessible.
Therapy laser treatments improves a variety of issues including pain control, wound healing, and arthritis. Low level laser light therapy (Class IV laser) is used to improve chronic and acute pain, improve/speed wound healing, and to reduce swelling and inflammation. Therapy laser treatments are performed on all patients having elective surgery.
Dental cleaning improves the oral hygiene and general health of our patients. The use of digital dental X-ray gives insight to roots of teeth and their health. Oral hygiene is an important part of our patient’s overall health and our doctors have recommendations to maintain your pet’s smile.
